Title: Poking around again
Post by: Jon on June 10, 2014, 02:41:24 PM
Just wanted to say thanks to Brian for the mini z chat. Im gonna try and make it down there this Thursday.

Quick question, whats the difference between the mr03 and mr03 sport? Looking through the the internet ive come across the boards are the only thing different. Will going the sport route hamper any future upgrades?

the only difference between the 03 and 03 Sport is the the board.  the physical chassis and parts are all the same.     the limitation of the sports board is that is is proprietary to Kyosho and the FHS 2.4GHz system.   so basically you have to use the Kyosho Radio.     With the standard 03 it has the 2.4 ASF system that is made by Ko Propo so you need to use that system for the controller.  with the Ko Propo you can use a number of different radios and also radios that will accept the 2.4 ASF mini-z modules.    Most of the radios have migrated away from the module based systerm (I think the wanted to sell more TX's).    there are some good ones to choose from.

if you want compatibility with the Spektrum DSM2 and above you can install the PN Board into the chassis and us it that way as well.

as far as chassis parts upgrades they will work on both 03 and 03S the same.
