Title: MantisWorx F1 Front & Rear Wings
Post by: briankstan on April 18, 2010, 11:32:20 AM
I have installed a few new additions to my F1,   let me know what you think.

the front wing has a carbon fiber bottom plate with derlin blocks and syrene top caps (painted to match, by me).  the overall quality is great  you reomve the lower portion of the standard wing and the clear bumper.   the new wing is slightly wider with rounded corners and glances off the rail rather than grabbing it.    the rear wing is modeled after the new 2010 Formula 1 cars,  it wider and sits slightly higher,  it has a nice rear diffuser and the one I have is also made of styrene,  there is also a carbon fiber one available.

I've driven it on my home track and it feels really good,  you won't be getting this one stuck under the rails, and it pretty much should last forever as it's made of carbon fiber and i'ts very strong,  on the bonus you also don't need the clear plastic bumper either. :)

The rear wing comes down low so if you get hit from a car behind it won't grind up your spur gear also. it's also pretty flexible material so it should be more durable than the stock rear wings.  the rear wings comes as individual pices that will need to be cleaned up and then assembled.  Everything was a good fit and jsut needed a little CA glue to assemble.   Then you can paint to match your car.   8)

Let me know what you think.  Of course you can click on the first piture to visit the gallery with all the pictures.  :flex:

Interesting fact,,,,, stock front wing and hardware  =  8.7 grams
MantisWorx carbon front wing   = 10.8 grams

Not bad for the added durability

Change the screws on the bottom to titanium and It will be the same weight as the stock ones.
