my car is having a thermal shut down in 5 min of run time do i need to up grade my fets to fix it. the gear mesh is good no drag on bearings or body.

so it is shutting down, but then works again after sitting for awhile?   this can be caused by the fets.   it doesn't sound like the fet is blown or it would loose all forward or reverse, or won't shut off.

I'm guessing that is is more then likely a poos solder joint on one of the fets.  you can try and hit each leg of the fet, but you will need a really fine solder tip for it.   I can do it for you and test everything out, but you will need to get the car to me.

you'll need a steady hand and be very careful when removing them so you don't lift a pad.  they are very small.   Just take you time and you should be fine.

Be sure to note the direction of the fet before removing them and install the new ones in the same direction.
