There is going to be an additional class added to the Schedule at the Ice Melter this year.   This is going to be and experimental class that is being looked at to add to future races.

The Class is an open class so anyone can enter if you like.   It’s going to be a 70 Turn (sealed/numbered) Motor class.   If you want to run this class you can run it with the same cars,  this will require you to change motors between races if you are running Super Stock (50T) and Pro Stock (70T).  it you have an extra car that isn’t being used this is perfect to add another class if you like.

Pro-Stock:
Stock Mini-z electronics – No Fet Upgrades allowed.   (Handout motor to be purchased at event for $8).  Basically the same rules apply as Super stock but it’s a 70T class.  Trophies will be awarded for A Main only.

Entry Fee:

$15.00 for the first Class
$5.00 each additional Class.
additional Spec Motors to be purchase at event and will be available for $8 ea.

Additional information:

This race has been run for the last 7 years as part of the Wild West Winter Carnival in Riverton, Wyoming.  Members of Salt Lake Mini-Z have attended the last 6 years and it’s tons of fun and lots of great people.  The race is held inside the casino (in the Ball Room) Kids are welcome to attend and race but are not permitted in the gaming area. There is a stage that is used for the drivers stand and a nice big track is setup. There are lots of great people to talk with and get help from. They have a raffle drawing that you are entered into when you register for the classes, one per class.

There is an onsite Hotel with discounted rates for racers.  Nothing like racing all day and having your room 5 minutes away when you're done.

This is a great race to attend and we have great support from our Salt Lake Mini-Z Club Members.

Sporting Regulations for this race.

The date has been set for the Ice Melter Classic 2014,  the date will be the 15-16 (Saturday and Sunday) for racings,  setup and open practice will happen on Friday.

We will plan on leaving on Friday Morning to arrive in Riverton around noon or so.   We can setup then get some practice in on Friday night….

I’ll get info about the any discounts for the hotel,    we stayed at the Casino hotel last year and it was really nice, and very convenient.  I’ll be doing the same again this year.

Let’s get It on everyone’s calendars and get the time scheduled off….. (February 14-16)

FYI,  this is over Valentines weekend,   I hope that isn't going to be a problem for anyone.   Paddle

like Russ said get her a car and have her race as well,   My wife has raced last year and had fun doing it,  my daughter and son also raced.

Hope you'll be able to work it out.

If all works out I plan on going. Good thing is my wife and I always celebrate on a week day nice night out so we don't have to deal with the crowds on the actual day. She may even want to come with, but if not hopefully can get a ride with someone.

Ok,  here is the deal in the rooms,    Rooms for the weekend will be $80 a night.   you can call and get your room reserved.

here is a link to the entry form, but can be filled out and paid when we get there like always.

Please let me know if you are going and what classes you are going to be running so we can get the numbers of each class for the handout motors.   (we are doing hand outs again like last year, because it's just one less thing to have to worry about someone cheating.)

if you have any other questions, let me know and I'll see what I can do about getting info for you.

just got this from Shannon,   looks like we didn't get the rates we were looking for... Paddle   Still not too bad.

Quote from: Shannon
I didn't get the rate I was hoping for. Sorry.

15 rooms have been reserved for the 14th, 15th, and 16th.  $99 a night. If you get a FREE Players Passport Card in the casino you get another 10% off (go to Customer Service). The cut-off date is January 30. Ask for the Shannon Watts - RC Car Race rate.
Wind River Hotel & Casino
1-866-657-1604

also it's helpful to mention the race prior to making the reservations so they get it put in their system correctly.    I've made reservations for 2 rooms,   Yes Chad one is for you and Luke.
