it looks like the DM1 but you would want to confirm that.   if it is then it's legal.

Not sure Guy. It looks the part. I think all thats required is a 1/8 scale buggy based chassis. The only ones I'm familiar with though are the Kyosho Inferno GT/2 and the Ofna DM1. I dont know much about the GTP. The radio's nice that comes with it though. If you want to "go it alone" so to speak that GTP might work but since nobody has one, finding help locally with it might be challenging.

You might want to do some checking/reading at:
UtahRC.com • View forum - Nitro On-road
GT class--buggy-based on road! - R/C Tech Forums
Kyosho Inferno GT - Login

Lots of good info at these sites. You could also just post up the question and see what others around the world think. My vote would be for the Inferno GT as its the most popular among our local racers and easiest to find resources for, but I'm not saying its the best.

Ok. Just got off the phone with OFNA. Asking about the differences between DM1 and GTPs.
The GTP is a consumer or lite version of the DM1. It can run in the same class all over the country as the DM 1. In fact, in many areas, the 1/7 cars even run with the 1/8 as one class!
The DM1 is beefier and stronger but evidently,, on any given day, the GTPs will stay right with them.
I think I will bid on this GTP.  Is there anyone in town who I could check with to see if there is something about the GTP car that would prevent me from competing with it here, as other places that race spec class around the country don't care?

Yes, Ask the question at Utahrc.com. Spooky runs the GT racing around here and pretty much sets the rules. I'm pretty sure I can speak for him and say "Bring whatever you got" and lets race. But you might want to get some feedback there. Also make sure to check RCTech for opinions. That will be cool if you win it. We can always use more GT racers. Spec class was 10 strong last night and was super fun. In fact we ran an A and B main and the winner of the B bumbed up to the A.

10! Wow that is great to hear! I always like to be involved in competitions where there are a lot of enthusiastic people involved.
I will check with This Spooky Man.
Were you the Bumbler??
