Is it normal for the car to make a constant noise when you turn it on.. I don't know how to explain it but every time I turn on the car it makes it and it will change pitches depending on turning/throttle..

Also brian, I'll be comin out on thursday, do you still have one of those ball difs? also looking to pick up that other motor

I do have a ball diff.   I've sold all the motors I had.  I'll get some more coming.

the car will make some twitch sound,  it's the servos always trying to certer itself.   We typically say it's not a mini-z if it doesn't do that.

One thing to note,  you always want to turn the TX on First, and the Turn it off Last.  this was you won't have a car that can go out of control.

you need to loosen the adjustment screw a little.  then on the end pop off the little e-clip.  then it will come apart.   be careful not to loos the e clip or any of the balls.  Oh when putting it back together I recommend only using 5 of the ball,  alternate them between holes. Make sure you sand the disk nice and flat and be sure to get any coating that is on them off.  Then re assemble and you should be good to go.  it should be nice and smooth action then install.  the gear on the motor will hold the gear, and if you spin one wheel the other should spin smoothly in the opposite direction.

here is a very good diff build tutorial.    Reflex Racing Diff Build Tutorial.

so on one side of the gear there is the metal plate and on the other side of the gear there is the same metal plate that is attached to the copper-lookin part, do i need to sand that plate as well?

i also got team associated silicone grease, will that work?

yes the grease will work.   I would sand both sides of both of them,  this is the surface that the diff balls run on.

Here are a couple "How To" articles on building a diff. I'm sure there are more out there if you search.

Atomic Mods How To Here

Reflex Racing How To Here

My best advise is make sure to build on a towel to catch the diff balls that always fall. Keep your hand over the end of the ball diff while re-installing the clip just in case it flies away. I usually suggest building in a non carpeted area as it makes it easier to find if you do drop it.  eek Good luck!
